Every day it's becoming more likely that we'll be receiving an important D2R Items announcement. In light of the fact that The Game Awards is now just a few days from now, the announcement could be made during the event. Although there's been no official confirmation from Blizzard however, several sources seem to be quite certain regarding this.
As per Insider Gaming, "this is currently the case, with more than 100 journalists having the chance to view the behind-the-scenes show as well being able to play the game. The embargo on the event and hands-on experiences will be lifted on the 7th of December.
"During the ceremony, Rod Fergusson invited all presenters to view The Game Awards as they'll make announcements."
Blizzard confirms that Diablo 4 is still getting Set Items, though you'll probably have to wait until after launch to utilize them in game.
Director of games Joe Shely explains during a recent roundtable discussion that reimagining sets in a manner that is compatible with Diablo 4 properly wouldn't be feasible for the launch of Diablo 4 in the first quarter of next year, even though the team is considering adding them to the live-streaming service.
"As we've been working on the game, we thought that we could develop sets in a different approach to the ones we've experienced previously in Diablo 3. However, we wanted more time to integrate sets into the game in a manner that would be compatible with the rest of D2R Ladder Items Buy, so you will not see them at the beginning within the game." Shely explains. "We believe that sets are amazing, and we'd like to make them look good - therefore, we're looking into for the live services we're planning to offer."
